SOUTH COAST WINERY RECEIVES NINE AWARDS FROM BEVERAGE TASTING INSTITUTE’S JULY TASTING PANEL

TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA July 19, 2011 Results are in from the Beverage Tasting Institute's (BTI) Sparkling Wine Review and Southern California’s Temecula Valley South Coast Winery scored BIG with all nine of its nine sparkling wines entered, including 2 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal.

South Coast Winery produces over 15,000 cases of sparkling wine each year from its 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art sparkling wine production facility. In fact, South Coast Winery’s Master Winemaker Jon McPherson held the title of most highly decorated sparkling wine producer in the world in the mid–1990s; and since coming to South Coast Winery, he’s continuously been proving to the world he still "got it," which is why South Coast elected to submit its sparkling wines to the BTI Tasting Panel reviews in July.

Founded in 1981 BTI’s objective is to produce fair and impartial wine reviews for consumers, and its philosophy still holds true today. In fact, BTI’s reputation continuously causes its buying guides to appear in such noted sources as Wine Enthusiast, Restaurant Hospitality, The New Yorker Magazine, Wine & Spirits, International Wine Review, Epicurious.com and many others.

The good news is, you don’t have to wait for this information to be released by these major networks. A quick highlight of South Coast’s Top Sparkling Wine Awards include:

South Coast NV Sparkling Gewurztraminer: This sparkling took the World Wine Championship Medal and Best Buy distinction from Beverage Institute with its exceptional 90 point ranking. BTI’s description states, "Bright aromas of apricot jam, pineapple cake, and yellow rose with a tangy, fruity medium body and a long, juicy apple and lemon curd accented finish. A deliciously fruity and easy-drinking sparkler that is perfect for parties." South Coast’s own customer reviews back up this popular pick. Priced at just $18 per 750mL bottle.

This sparkling is priced right for turning an ordinary day into a celebration at just $18 per 750mL bottle.

South Coast Winerys NV Brut: This South Coast Winery all–star came in third position among its South Coast counterparts, earning an impressive 89 points and ranking the highest among the long listing of Bruts sampled by BTI during its July 7, 2011 tasting.
