Chocolate Candy Roll

One stick of butter
2 squares of unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 cups powered sugar
1 egg beaten
1 cup broken walnuts or pecans
1 - 6.25 oz. pkg. miniature marshmallows
1 1/4 cups flaked coconut

Melt butter and chocolate squares over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool mixture slightly, then mix in powered sugar and beaten egg. Cool...then fold in nuts and marshmallows. Mix until they are coated with chocolate. On wax paper, pour candy mixture and shape into two long rolls. Then, sprinkle the outside of the rolls with lots of flaked coconut. Wrap each roll carefully in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator until needed. Cut into slices to serve. Yields two pounds.

This recipe is one of my mother's favorite recipes. She made it every year at Christmas. It is very pretty when made with multicolored miniature marshmallows.
