Meet Executive Chef Alessandro Serni of Vineyard Rose Restaurant in Temecula Wine Country

Award Winning Wines and Restaurant in Temecula Wine Country, Chef Alessandro Serni"It's all about wine and food and food and wine," says Vineyard Rose Executive Chef Alessandro Serni. Or as South Coast Winery owner Jim Carter puts it, "Alessandro's unique experience and skills allow us to better match our award-winning wines with exceptional Mediterranean-style food."

That's only natural for Italian-born Serni. Collaborating with award-winning South Coast Master Winemaker Jon McPherson, he continues to add wine-friendly selections to the Vineyard Rose menus. Serni also makes the most of the freshest, locally grown ingredients for seasonal dishes, all of which showcase the Tuscan cooking style he grew up with.

Where did his creative culinary talent take him after Tuscany? Turkey, Portugal and Four Seasons properties in the West Indies and India and more recently, at the Four Seasons Aviara in San Diego, California Bistro and, later, Vivace (voted best Italian restaurant in town year after year). Most recently, Serni was executive chef at the world famous Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. After more than 20 years of cooking globally, Serni and his family now live locally in nearby Winchester.
